Medical Devices Make TIME Top 200 Best Inventions 2023

TIME has released its top 200 best inventions of 2023, with 11 groundbreaking medical devices making this year’s cut.

Across a range of categories including Accessibility, AR/VR, Experimental, Fitness, Medical Care and Special Mention, featured devices cover a range of conditions and healthcare needs including rehabilitation for amputees, stroke recovery, diabetes and tremor.

Included in the esteemed line-up is Cionic‘s Neural Sleeve (pictured above), a wearable fabric brace lined with sensors to “continuously monitor movement in real-time to evaluate muscle firing and limb position, while “personalised algorithms deliver functional electrical stimulation to activate the necessary muscles precisely coordinated to the gait cycle”.
