Revolutionising Spinal Rehab with Mobile 3D Scanning

First conceived for use by the likes of Hollywood, highly specialised 3D scanning equipment is now helping to reshape the possibilities of spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
In what the company touts as “the world’s latest mobile cyber scanning rig”, Gold Coast-based Myriad Studios has joined forces with Griffith University’s BioSpine virtual reality project to create high-spec 3D scans of study participants and environments.
The cyber scanning rig, known as Bumblebee, is wheelchair accessible and enables ultimate flexibility in where and when scanning takes place.
Bionics Gamechangers Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Robyn Stokes said she was thrilled to recently see the technology in action, and the role it played in promising future treatment options for people with spinal cord injury.
