Alec McMorris was a football coach who got hit by an out-of-control, speeding car while he was on the side of the road. Miraculously, he lived – and now he’s testing a bionic leg on the cutting edge of biotechnology.
The leg uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help amputees walk naturally, in ways that are impossible with rigid prosthetics.
Bionic limbs keep getting better. This prosthetic leg being developed by the University of Utah Bionic Engineering Lab is a robot you can walk on – and it makes decisions as well.
