First Ever Non-invasive Brain-Computer Interface Developed

A grand challenge in brain-computer interface (BCI) research has been underway for some time to identify a less invasive or even totally non-invasive technology that would allow paralysed patients to control their environment or robotic limbs using their own “thoughts.”

Using a non-invasive BCI, researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed what they say is the first-ever successful mind-controlled robotic arm exhibiting the ability to continuously track and follow a computer cursor.
