“Mind-controlled prosthetic devices with sensory feedback are becoming a reality, but cost could limit their adoption,” says contributing writer Meg Bryant for MedTechDive.

The United States’ “Federal Drug Administration (FDA) looked to spur development when it released its ‘leapfrog’ draft guidance in February outlining a vision for invention and testing of brain-implanted devices capable of controlling prosthetic limbs. And the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is funnelling tens of millions into new products.”
