Neo-Bionica Awarded $5M to Accelerate Medtech Manufacturing

Victorian medtech manufacturing facility, Neo-Bionica has been awarded $5 million from Breakthrough Victoria to accelerate its work delivering medical device prototypes, clinical trials and manufacturing support.

Headquartered within the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne campus, Neo-Bionica contracts to both local and overseas innovators with a team specialised in developing digitally-enabled bionic and neurotechnology devices.

“We are very proud to be an Australian company supporting local medtech innovators and exporting Australian medtech expertise to the world,” said Neo-Bionica CEO, Dr Ludovic Labat in a statement.

“We are extremely excited to have Breakthrough Victoria’s support as we embark on our next growth phase… [which] will enable us to accelerate our domestic and global expansion plans.”

Established in 2021, Neo-Bionica is a joint venture of the Bionics Institute and The University of Melbourne.
